Near-by

A list of neighborhood resources that immediately come to mind just keeps growing, but this list should help with your immediate needs:

  • Walgreen's, 3 blocks north on Central and Dartmouth,

  • Mannie's Family Restaurant on Central and Girard has a full menu of American and Mexican food--breakfast is served all day,

  • US Post Office is west of here on Cornell between Central and Silver but is only open 9AM-3:30 PM,

  • Smith’s grocery store’s west on Coal and Yale,

  • Montanita co-op market east at Carlisle and Central,

  • Laundromats--we have several nearby including University Laundromat on Central and Princeton, which takes large loads, and a Wash-Fluff-Fold where you drop off your dirty laundry and pick up your nicely folded clean laundry--Ti-Dee Laundromat on Carlisle and Gibson, which does our Airbnb laundry.

  • ABQ Cleaners on Dartmouth and Monte Vista (almost 1 block north of Central)

  • Ernie Pyle, a very sweet public library 4 blocks south on Girard and Santa Monica,

  • Hyder Park, Nob Hill's lovely little park at Richmond (next street east), about 3 blocks south of here,

  • Puerta del Sol, a good public golf course at Gibson and Girard, about a mile south on Girard, and the north campus golf course, just north of Lomas.

Throw the net a bit wider and you'll find lots more in the way of grocery stores:

  • Whole Foods on Indian School and Carlisle, about 2 miles,

  • Sprouts on Lomas at San Mateo, about 2 miles,

  • Trader Joe's about 7 miles northeast, on Indian School and Louisiana,

  • Farmer's Markets abound in Albuquerque.  We have our very own in Nob Hill at Morningside Park (below).

Worship as You Choose

Nearby we have many choices for places of worship, including several on the University of New Mexico campus.

On the maps here, I'm noticing some missing worship centers: the Zen Center on Garfield, St. Charles of Borromeo on Hazeltine and University Boulevard, and the many centers near the Newman Center at UNM.  While my maps aren't as exhaustive as I'd like, the abundance of choices is quite nice.

If your preference isn't here, I'd suggest Googling your place of worship and adding 87106, our zipcode, or ABQ for the city.

Stone's Throw

We used to have annual Nob Hill Walking Tours, which you can still recreate, thanks to the Web.

Also right here in the Neighborhood is the University of New Mexico, which has myriad treasures--lovely gardens, museums, libraries, art and music complex--and the Duck Pond.  Go west on Central, two blocks.
