Televisions

You have 2 TCL - Roku SMART televisions plus Comcast cable boxes--one in the living room and one in the bedroom.  The TVs are calibrated to their boxes.  There's a bit of a trick to operating these very fancy TVs.  I've labeled the Comcast remotes.

On the Comcast Remote, press on the All Power ONCE.  Pause then click TWICE or THRICE (pausing briefly between each clik) on TV Input.  The first time you click on the TV Input, you'll move from the initial screen shown above. The following clicks will take you to HDMI1.  That will open to the last channel watched on your Cable Box.  I do apologize that it's such a cumbersome process, but it's the only way to open with a single Remote on the SMART TV.

You have lots of stations listed on the laminated guide in the bookshelf under each TV.  The channels in BOLD are HD and will utilize the whole screen.  Use the smaller Roku remote for Netflix, Amazon etc.

Wi-Fi

We have Wi-Fi.  Use either of the so404 signals.  I'll leave the password on your welcome letter.  

Casitas - Tankless Water Heater - Shower

La Casa has a new conventional hot water heater.  The Casitas have tankless hot water heaters. With the tankless hot water heaters, as long as there's electricity, you should have hot water.  The only downside is in your shower, and only when it's extremely cold outside.  To offset any problem, you have a dual-lever shower faucet.  The larger dial regulates the heat of the water.  The smaller dial regulates the volume of the water flow.  When it's very, very cold, you may want to use the smaller dial.

 

During the winter when the water comes into the property at near freezing, you might want to adjust the LOWER, smaller lever on on your shower knob.  Moving it to one side will lessen the water flow and allow you that really hot shower even when it's very cold outside.

Kitchen Appliances

Coffee Maker - You have a permanent filter--use it, wash it, reuse it.  Other features include the following:

  • Full Brew Less Than 10 Minutes

  • Dripless Pour Spout

  • 24 Hour Programmability And 2-Hour Auto Shut-Off

 

Your tiny instruction manual is in the drawer.

MicroWave - This machine is small and simple, even I can use it, which was the basis of my selection--dials not buttons, keep it simple.

​

Combination Cooktop and Oven Stove (Casitas) - I love this stove and cooktop.  The cooktop is so easy to clean.  If you make a mess, after the stove cools--and the stove is turned off--place a damp cloth on the mess and allow it to soften.  It should come right up.  No need to scour or scrape.  

 

Figuring out which knob goes with which burner takes a bit longer.  

 

The oven also is easy, even though it's buttons.  However, it may take you a bit to think about

which button to press in order to simply cook, or it did for me.  

 

I believe your oven has a Convection setting which means that it will heat the oven more quickly

for preheating and, if you leave it on that setting to cook your food, it will cook the food more

quickly.

​

Separate Cooktop and Oven (La Casa) - I have left the instructions for your cooktop and oven in a blue booklet in a drawer in your kitchen.

 

Refrigerator and Ice Maker - The ice maker will keep making ice as long as the wire arm is down.  

Just gently cock the arm up, if you want the ice-maker to stop.  It's a great feature.

Toaster - I only just thought to add a toaster.  This one accommodates all types of breads, including 

bagels.  Enjoy.
