Breweries, Micro-Breweries, Craft Breweries . . . in the Desert?

Who would ever have predicted BEER would take off in Albuquerque, but it has.  Here's a link to launch your discovery of our Ale Addictions--Albuquerque Beer Map.

We also have various brewery tours:

  • The Ale Trail - Albuquerque Trolley Company

  • Brewery Tours

     - Bosque Brewing Company Public House (Nob Hill!),

     - Marble Brewery,

     - Left Turn Distilling,

     - Albuquerque Brewing Company Tour,

  • Brewery Bike Tour

  • Duke City Pedaler

Someone recently told me ABQ has more per capita breweries AND community theater groups than any other American city.  Wonder if there's a correlation.

Strolling and Learning

We have a terrific BioPark near Old Town and one of our museum complexes.

  • Albuquerque BioPark--zoo, arboretum/botanical garden, and aquarium.

  • Old Town--the traditional plaza and church surrounded by shops and restaurants,

  • Museums--New Mexico Natural History Museum, Albuquerque Museum, and Explora! in Old Town really are just a few.  For a complete list of our great museums, please click on this link MUSEUMS.

And the Tram

You can't miss the Tram!  Sandia Peak Tramway - fabulous.

The ride up and down is grand, and there are trails along the crest with spectacular vistas.

Unfortunately, the High Finance Restaurant atop the Tram has been demolished  and construction of a new facility to replace it has begun with an anticipated opening of summer 2018.  It's still worth the price of the ride.

Amusement Parks

I was totally astonished to find that ABQ has more amusement parks than just Hinkle's Family Fun Center and Cliff's (which is linked on the Yelp's Top 10), but we do, including one in Nob Hill--Puzzessed Escape Games.

We've GrubHub

in abq for food delivery

Enjoy Gawking and Walking

One of my absolutely favorite places in Albuquerque is the Rio Grande Nature Center.  After you've strolled along the river and toured the exhibits and sat for a while in the observation room, go up the road a bit to Dietz Farms' Bookworks, find a treasure, and then have a lovely meal/snack at Flying Star Cafe, a locally owned restaurant.

We have lots of great locally owned restaurants, including one of my favorites--the Range Cafe--and it's partner restaurant--Standard Diner--and the Daily Grind.

For very fun gawking, I'd recommend the Trolley Tours.  They have a Breaking Bad tour and lots of other options. (Click on the underscore for their webpage.)

Theater, Singing, Dancing

Lots more in the way of entertainment.  We have a performing arts center across the street, almost, lots of community theater, and are surrounded by casinos that import great talent.  Here's a link to ABQ Theater.

Popejoy Theater     Albuquerque Little Theater     Vortex

Casino entertainment venues can be found on this Entertainment link.

We also have lots of movie theaters from Regal Winrock 16 IMAX, to Century Rio 24, to the smaller, but closer, Century 14 across

from the Alvarado Transit Station on 1st and Central, and the farther but very comfortable Icon Cinemas.  Click on CINEMA.
